“Also, Lauren, although I don't see her a lot, it's great to see a senior member of the team playing an active role with all of the children and getting to know them individually. It's definitely reassuring from a parents point of view when SLT take the time to get to know not only the children but to go out of their way to talk to and engage with parents”

Positive Learning Environment

“Children benefit hugely from the highly successful relationships that exist between staff, parents and other professionals involved in their care and learning. This provides children with consistency. As a result, all children are extremely well prepared for their next stages in learning and their eventual move to school.”

Angels By Day caters to your little ones from as young as 6 weeks to 5 years, offering a nurturing environment for their early years. For school-aged children up to 12 years, our after-school and holiday clubs provide a fun, engaging space for learning and play. Our flexible sessions, including half days and extended half days, are designed to fit around your schedule, and we proudly accept government funding to support your childcare needs.

We recommend early enrolment to ensure your child secures a spot in our popular toddler and preschool groups. Our nursery is in high demand, particularly for these age groups. To make the transition as smooth as possible, we offer free settling-in sessions the week before your child’s start date. We invite you to visit us, compare, and feel the welcoming atmosphere that makes Angels By Day the right choice for your family.

Understanding family needs, we offer a 15% discount for the second child from the same family attending our nursery. This discount is our way of supporting your family until government funding begins. It’s our little way of saying thank you for trusting us with your precious ones.

Our Team

At Angels By Day, we take pride in our hard-working, passionate team, comprising highly qualified staff and enthusiastic training practitioners. Our nursery is thoughtfully divided into three specialised rooms to cater to the unique needs of different age groups:

Baby Room (0-2 years): With a nurturing ratio of 1:3, our baby room offers the tender care and attention your littlest ones need during their early, formative years.
Toddler Room (2-3 years): A ratio of 1:4 ensures that toddlers receive the guidance and support necessary for their exploration and growth in a safe and stimulating environment.
Pre-School (3-4 years): Preparing for school, our preschool room, with a ratio of 1:8, encourages independence, learning, and social skills within a structured yet fun setting.

Each room is led by a dedicated room leader, supported by a team of caring staff, including a key worker for each child to ensure consistency and a personal touch in their development journey. Our commitment to quality care is reflected in the longevity of our staff, with many having been part of the Angels family for over 10 years. Our manager, leading with 18 years of dedication since 2002, embodies our nursery’s ethos of stability, love, and growth.

Parent engagement

We cherish the involvement of our parents and the wider community, offering diverse ways to engage and enrich our nursery environment:

Interactive Sessions: Our ‘Stay and Play’ sessions and language-sharing initiatives invite parents to actively participate in their child’s learning, celebrating our community’s cultural diversity.
Feedback Opportunities: Through bi-annual parents’ evenings and regular questionnaires, we welcome your insights and suggestions, ensuring our nursery meets the needs of all families.
Community Connections: Our children enjoy meaningful outings, such as visits to the local care home and exploratory trips to parks and woods, fostering a sense of community and a love for nature.

These activities not only support our children’s development but also strengthen the bond between families and our nursery, creating a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere. We had a successful coffee morning, inviting professionals in to share what is available for our parents in their local community.

Day Nursery Near Hucknall safety

The safety and security of our little ones and our staff is our top priority. We’ve put in place thoughtful safety measures to make sure everyone in our nursery feels safe and well looked after:

Biometric Access Control: Our front door has a biometric system with a magnetic lock. This means only people who have had their fingerprints recorded can come in. Visitors need to ring the doorbell and wait for someone to let them in, making sure our nursery is a secure place.
Visitor Checks: Anyone new visiting the nursery is signed in by a member of our team, needs to show ID, and isn’t allowed to wander around on their own. This keeps our nursery a safe space for all our children.
Secure Outdoor Play: Our garden gate is always locked with a padlock, ensuring the children have a safe area to play and discover the outdoors.
CCTV Surveillance: We have CCTV cameras inside and outside the nursery, watching over the place 24/7 to keep our children and staff safe.
DBS Checks and Regular Monitoring: Every member of our staff has been checked before they start working with us, and we keep checking to make sure they’re always suitable to be around our children.
These careful safety steps show how seriously we take our responsibility to look after every child in our care, giving you peace of mind that your child is in a safe, caring environment.

Feedback from our parents

“A massive thank you to Chloe for constantly supporting and working with F, helping him to settle into the nursery and helping him to enjoy each day”

“safeguarding was the forefront of priority for us when putting A into nursery. Which is why we choose to send her to your Nursery as you demonstrate outstanding safety from the induction and continues to be”

Do you provide meals for the children?

Yes, we provide nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary requirements. Our food is prepared and cooked daily by our cook; we order our meat from our local butchers and cater to all the children’s individual needs. None is too tricky for us.

How do you support children with SEN?

We have staff specifically trained in special education needs, and they support the children with individual plans and targets to help further their development. We engage with other professionals, make prompt referrals where needed for 1:1 support or speech therapy and help signpost families. Angels have brought families into our setting to model positive interaction and support families on how to manage SEN children at home, giving advice. We adapt to the children in regard to resources, activities and needs.
