It's definitely reassuring from a parents point of view when SLT take the time to get to know not only the children but to go out of their way to talk to and engage with parents”

Safety

At Angels By Day, ensuring the safety of our children is our foremost priority, a commitment we take to heart for our Watnall families. To safeguard our nursery, we’ve implemented a state-of-the-art biometric system. This system includes a magnetically locked front door that can only be accessed through fingerprint verification recorded in our office. Visitors without registered access must ring the doorbell and wait for assistance, ensuring a secure entry protocol.

For added security, all individuals unfamiliar to our staff are required to sign in and provide ID verification, ensuring they are accompanied at all times within the nursery. Our garden area is secured with a padlocked gate, which remains locked continuously to ensure the children’s outdoor play is safe and monitored.

Surrounding and within the nursery, CCTV cameras operate round-the-clock, overseeing both outdoor and indoor areas. This system is in place not just for the safety of our children but also to protect our staff, creating a secure environment for everyone. Furthermore, all members of our team undergo thorough DBS checks upon hiring, with continuous updates to their status through the update service. This allows us to regularly verify their suitability and commitment to the safety and well-being of your children at Angels By Day.

We take these measures to ensure that our Watnall families can have peace of mind, knowing their children are in a secure, nurturing environment where their safety is paramount.

Do you provide meals for the children?

Yes, we provide nutritious meals and snacks, catering to all dietary requirements. Our food is prepared and cooked daily by our cook; we order our meat from our local butchers and cater to all the children’s individual needs. None is too tricky for us.

How do you support children with SEN?

We have staff specifically trained in special education needs, and they support the children with individual plans and targets to help further their development. We engage with other professionals, make prompt referrals where needed for 1:1 support or speech therapy and help signpost families. Angels have brought families into our setting to model positive interaction and support families on how to manage SEN children at home, giving advice. We adapt to the children in regard to resources, activities and needs.
